We Build For People

OUR MISSON

Partners in the process.  That’s what we consider ourselves.  We listen to the needs of the Client.  Develop a game plan, and help through the design and budgeting process, then see each project through to completion, providing full, transparent communication along the way.

Founder & Owner Mark Bonser

With over 40 years in the Construction Industry, starting with paying for school Framing homes, Mark has invested his time in learning and growing from the ground up.  After completing a Business Degree, next up was Civil Engineering, to further enhance his rapidly growing abilities, while learning all phases of construction in various rolls in Project Management, and quickly, moving to Business Owner, and Operator of his own firm.

Combining a love of exploration, it only came naturally to dive into a wide range of projects, from Custom Residential, Timber Frame and Log home building in Southwest Colorado, to rapidly moving Institutional projects such as School work, and Municipal facilities in West Michigan.  Large scale Commercial and Industrial projects further developed skills in problem solving, client relations, design, MEP specification, and a wide range of knowledge that has served as the foundation for all projects along the way. Multi-Family Communities, Manufacturing, and Luxury Lakefront, all provide opportunities for expansion of experience.

From Business Ownership to Leading teams and Divisions, a Learner’s mindset has fueled Mark’s passion to look for the best solution, source the right materials, and employ the right strategies and practices to meet the need of the project, and the client. Drawing from this extensive experience, brings the ability to think outside the box, and intermingle various techniques and materials used in Commercial builds, into complicated Residential builds, ever mindful of schedules and budgets, which must remain in the forefront of each decision.

Relationships are often the key to success in any Industry, but for the Construction Industry, they are paramount.  Pulling a team together, building relationships with Owners, Architects, Contractors, Bankers and Investors, is a hallmark to the process that Mark has developed for The Phoenix Development Group.

Drawing on the strengths of others, enhances the ability to deliver to a higher standard, and a team mindset brings professionals together during stressful times, to achieve far greater results than possible with a splintered group who lacks connection.  This is a key trait that sets The Phoenix Development Group apart, and why our projects run smoothly, and are delivered on time, in budget and at high quality.

Having included a parallel career in Law Enforcement in the learning stages of his personal development, the ability to collaborate with a wide range of personalities, problem solve efficiently, and communicate effectively in any situation, Mark’s approach is always to arrive at a win-win for all parties involved.  Not easily flustered, our team knows the value of holding others responsible, sticking to the facts, and pushing through difficult situations while remaining highly professional.  In the Construction Industry, it’s not “if there will be threats to the project” it’s “how will one react to, and handle those that arise”.

Weather, supply chains, labor resources, design changes, all become potential threats to the schedule and budget.  It takes foresight to see those issues, before they impact the project.  Keeping an eye on the “big picture” makes managing the details simultaneously, that much easier.
